Stadthaus I Prenzlauer Berg

The main task for the design of a loft conversion in Prenzlauer Berg was creating a good connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The attic has been previously converted into living space and connected with underlying flat into a duplex with large terrace spaces on two floors.

According to the clients' wishes, two distinct zones have been designed: a large representative living room with an unblocked view over the historical center of Berlin and an east-oriented private space. These two zones have been separated with a terrace that can be transformed into a winter garden and which is connected to the second roof terrace with a panoramic view.

The building itself is a part of historically protected complex, therefore the street facade, as well as parts of the staircase and wall paintings have been renovated according to strict rules of conservation authorities.
